In May, 2021, Shelby was asked if she like to travel by her Marketing Representative at Xlibris Publishing. When she admitted that she did, Marcus told her, "That's good because you have been invited to attend the Hollywood Book-to-Screen Pitchfest to be held at the Beverly Hilton October 8-9, 2021!" What is a Pitchfest? It is a chance for authors to meet face-to-face with decision-makers in the film and tv entertainment world and present them with a 2-minute synopsis of her story in the book, "Learning to Dance in the Rain II." This slideshow contains photos of their trip. How did Shelby do? A week after getting home she was informed that out of the 55 authors attending the event, she and 3 others received the highest number of responses from the 14 executives/producers. She is now in the second stage toward reaching the goal of a feature film about her experiences following the death of her husband of fifty years.
